The Chillicothe Mudcats took a 4-2, 10 inning victory on Saturday night, scoring two runs in the top of the 10th inning after escaping a bases loaded, no out jam in the bottom of the 9th to keep their chances of victory alive.
On Sunday, the Mudcats were not as fortunate, falling at Nevada by a score of 5-2.
The split of the weekend contests leave the Mudcats at 7-4 in league play, 1 game behind 7-2 St. Joseph. The Mustangs will look to extend their lead to 1 1/2 on Monday night, playing at Joplin at 7 o’clock. Chillicothe will have Monday and Tuesday off, before beginning a homestand on Wednesday night.
