North Central Missouri College sophomore Jalen Gant, a native of Kansas City, has been named Second Team All-American by the National Junior Colege Athletic Association (NJCAA).  The NJCAA announced teams of ten young men, making up the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams nationally among Division 2 juco programs.

Shortly after the NJCAA honor, Gant became one of the first signees for Missouri Western’s new head coach, Sundance Wicks, choosing to play for the Griffons for the next two seasons.

Two members of the Region 16 champion Lady Pirates basketball team signed at the four-year level recently, with Samm Jett (Community HS / Laddonia, MO) inking with the Missouri Valley Vikings.  In her one year at NCMC, after transferring from John Wood, Jett averaged 9.3 points per game, and shot 89% from the free throw line, tying for the all-time career mark in program history.

Two Lady Pirate student-athletes signed with Park University, staying Lady Pirates for the next two years.  Sophomore basketball standout Sarah Lamp (Kirksville, MO) and golfer Hannah Bracken (Stanberry, MO), both choosing the athletic department at the Kansas City area school.
