Second-half onslaught takes down Pirates in 20-point road loss in Iowa

Men's Basketball

The North Central Missouri College men’s basketball team traveled to Iowa Falls, Iowa on Tuesday night, looking for their third victory in a row to open 2018.  Through one half of their game against the Ellsworth Community College Panthers, things were going well for the Pirates.  The second half was a different story.

Outscored 49-26 over the final 20 minutes, NCMC lost 84-64, losing a 38-35 halftime advantage in falling to 10-6 on the season.  Ellsworth, with the win, moves their record to 11-5, in the process breaking a two-game losing skid.

Darius Lasley led the Panthers with 24 points, with Josh Donaldson adding 11 and Isaiah Johnson 10 points.  Individual stats from NCMC are not available at posting time.

North Central’s men will have six nights off, before embarking into a three-game week.  On Monday night (January 22nd) at 7 o’clock, the Pirates host Kansas City Kansas Community College on Hot Country Z 101.7, with Region 16 rival Penn Valley visiting the Ketcham Community Center on Wednesday, January 24th (also on Hot Country Z 101.7), while the Pirates travel south to Harrison, Arkansas to play the North Arkansas Pioneers on Saturday, January 27th.
