The Trenton Lady Bulldogs steadied themselves from a few tense early-match moments for a straight-set win at Brookfield on Tuesday night, with the volleyball girls evening their record at 1-1.
The final score in the varsity matchup was Trenton winning 25-17, 25-7, 25-11. The Lady Bulldogs were led offensively by Nautica Dowling and Saige Gott, each with eight kills. Dowling had six aces from the back line, with Gott racking up 11 assists and a successful block. Lilly Woods had seven digs, with Mackenzie Whipple adding one block.
The Trenton JV won in two sets over Brookfield, however the final score was not available.
Concerning the victory, THS head coach Brad Ewald said, “The first set we seemed really tense. It was nice to see the girls loosen up and just play as the night went on. Hopefully this will be the confidence booster we’ve been looking for!”
Trenton, after a 1-1 road trip (loss to Cameron on Monday night), returns home to host rival Chillicothe on Thursday night, with the C team match at 5 o’clock, JV match at 6, and the varsity duel at 7.
