The Trenton Bulldogs and Chillicothe Hornets rolled through semifinal round action by matching 5-0 victories in semifinal round play in Class 1, District 15 on Tuesday afternoon, with the Bulldogs shutting out Carrollton, and the Hornets taking the victory against Excelsior Springs. The results set up #1 seed Trenton hosting #2 Chillicothe for the team district championship on Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock from the Bosley-Carpenter Courts adjacent to Trenton High School.
For Trenton, doubles wins came from Trent Villacampa and Brayden Sager 8-1 (over Wohlgemuth and Terryberry), Jonin Villacampa and Jacob Horton 8-1 (over Brownley and Hilbrenner), and Tucker Otto and Victor Markell, combining for an 8-1 win over Jacob Lyon and Patrick Lyon.
Singles victories came from Bradyn Sager over Corey Terryberry 6-0, 6-0; and Tucker Otto over Camden Hilbrenner 6-0, 6-1. The win pushes the Bulldogs dual record this season to 11-1, ending the Trojans campaign with a mark of 2-10.
