Trenton Student Athletes Receive Academic All-Conference Honors

In Trenton’s first year in the Grand River Conference success has come both on the field and in the classroom. In total, 25 student-athletes have been given the academic all-conference title for the winter and spring season.

For the first time in program history girls basketball advanced to the Class 3 Show-Me Showdown and left with the fourth place trophy. From that squad Whitley Richman, Ashten Whitaker, Saedee Jackson, Sidney Lynch, Taylor Richman, Ainsley Tolson, McKayla Blackburn, and Haley Kidd were named academic all-conference. Along with finishing fourth in class 3, the Lady Bulldogs won the GRC title.

Trenton boys basketball also claimed the GRC championship this winter. Athletes named to the list include: Connor Cotton, Lathan Croy, Hunter Dugan, Dylan Harris, and Jarren King.

Fourth place state finisher Mason Owen and state qualifier Jadan Whitney were named academic all conference for the Bulldog wrestling program. The Bulldog wrestlers finished third in the GRC.

From the Trenton golf team Connor Cotton and state medalist Lathan Croy were selected for the honors. Trenton finished second in the GRC behind Gallatin.

In girls track Mason Hooyman was named along with Whitley Richman, Tenna Roberts, Shayla Woodside, Abbie Shuler, and McKayla Blackburn for outstanding work in the classroom.

To round out the list, the GRC honored Wyatt Whittle, Chase Marsh, Cole Shilling, Noah Elbert, Dylan Harris, Matt Sibbit, Jaden Whitney, and Carson Burchett from the boys track team.
