Trenton volleyball falls in back-to-back matches to finish regular season

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs lost on the road to a tough Savannah squad on Tuesday night, 25-10, 25-7, finishing the regular season with a record of 6-18.  Karli Provorse had three digs and two kills, Grace Holcomb, Melea Farmer, and Shawna Coplen two digs each, and Saedee Jackson an ace for THS.  

On Monday (October 17th), #5 seed Trenton begins district play at Lexington, taking on #4 seed Carrollton at 5 o’clock.  The winner advances to a semifinal meeting with #1 seed St. Paul Lutheran on Tuesday at 5 PM.  Other first round matches, on Monday, will be Lexington vs. Brookfield at 6 PM and Higginsville vs. Hamilton at 7 PM.  Both semifinals, and the championship match, will be played on Tuesday, October 18th in Class 2, District 15.

On Monday night of this week, Trenton lost its Senior Night contest against St. Joseph Christian, 25-20, 25-16.  Jackson had six kills and Provorse five for THS, with Coplen adding four assists, and Laura Carlson four digs.  The program’s only senior, Brittany Wilson, was honored at her final home game as a Lady Bulldog volleyball player.

Chillicothe, on Tuesday night, swept an MEC home test with Benton, 25-21, 25-17.  Katelyn Parkey led the Lady Hornets with 18 kills, with Carly Gardner adding 16 assists, Hannah Jones 10 digs, and Whitney Clampitt six blocks.  In the KCI on Tuesday night, taking victories were the West Platte Lady ‘Jays (two sets over North Platte), Lawson Lady Cards (25 ,19, 25-16 vs. East Buchanan), Plattsburg (two set sweep vs. Hamilton) and Mid-Buchanan Lady Dragons (26-24, 23-25, 25-22 vs. Lathrop).  Mid-Buchanan clinched the KCI title with a 7-0 league mark.
