Trenton’s Tolson makes college choice, signs with William Jewell

High School Basketball

Trenton High School’s Ainsley Tolson has become the latest Lady Bulldog senior to sign with a collegiate athletic program, inking with the women’s basketball program at William Jewell College on Liberty in a Monday morning ceremony in the Trenton High School commons.

Tolson is the first of the Lady Bulldogs “Fab Five” seniors to sign to play basketball collegiately, as classmates Salem Croy, Taylor Richman, and Sidney Lynch signed with the North Central Missouri College softball program one week early.  Senior Mykah Hurley remains undecided on her collegiate decision.

Following the signing, Tolson met with the media, including Sports Director Tom Johnson, to talk about her decision:

Tolson, along with Hurley, Croy, Richman, and Lynch, were senior starters on the Lady Bulldog softball team that finished second in the state this fall, losing in the Class 2 title game to two-time champion Bowling Green in 11 innings.  That same group of five are the backbone of a Lady Bulldog basketball team that is currently ranked in Class 3, reached the “Final Four” in 2017, has won back-to-back Grand River Conference championships, and has started the 2018-2019 season with eight consecutive victories heading into Tuesday night’s home game (6 PM / Hot Country Z 101.7) with the Gallatin Lady Bulldogs.
