High School Basketball

The Trenton Bulldogs, on Tuesday night, wrapped up the 2019 calendar year with a 46-41 win over Northland Christian, in action from the Ketcham Community Center on KTTN FM 92.3.

Trenton held a double-digit halftime lead, but had to hold off a pair of Trail Blazer second-half surges, including one that had the game tied late.  Senior forward Jaren Whitney had five late points, including a steal, for the Bulldogs, to seal the victory.

Gavin Roeder led Trenton with 15 points, with Royce Jackson adding 14, and Whitney 13, as THS improves to 2-8 on the season.  Northland Christian, falling to 4-5, had a game-high 17 points from Carson Starnes.

In the final game at Holiday Hoops for 2019, Grundy R-V’s Lady Panthers had a good bounce-back effort from an earlier loss to Montrose, dominating the second half in pulling away for a 54-38 win over Polo.  Aubrey Gann led a balanced Grundy attack with 17 points, with Bri Carpio scoring 12, and Jandie Peterson 11 points.  Mary Copeland had 10 points for Polo.
