Braymer remains #6 in 8 man state poll, with Archie #1

The Archie Whirlwinds, with four of seven first-place votes and a total of 67 points, remain the #1 ranked team in the state in eight-man football, in Monday’s media poll sponsored by Reign Physical Therapy.

Archie, now 7-0 on the season, will host 5-2 Sweet Springs this week, while unbeaten South Holt, now 7-0 and ranked #2, will travel to 2-5 Mound City.  South Holt has three first-place votes and 64 points.

Ranked #3 after Saturday’s win at Pattonsburg, the Worth County Tigers take a 6-1 mark in a home date with King City, while fourth-ranked Plattsburg will see a battle of the unbeatens, traveling to Concordia to play the Orioles in a Friday night showdown.  Concordia is ranked 11th with 7 points, with Drexel and Lockwood tied for 12th.

Platte Valley is ranked 5th and will host winless DeKalb this week, with 7-0 Braymer remaining 6th prior to a trip to 4-3 Southwest Livingston.  Nodaway Valley is ranked 7th, Appleton City 8th, and Albany 9th.
