Chillicothe Swarm announce 2020 departure from MFA, start to practice

High School Football
On Sunday, the Swarm Football team held their first practice and player evaluations at the old Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium I, in Chillicothe.  Athletes from St. Joseph to Macon came out for the team and there were many new faces in the huddle.  With recruiting still on going, players from a variety of rural Missouri towns are expected to tryout for the team before the season kicks off this summer.
Swarm news will continue through the winter and on to the Spring, but the biggest information so far is the team running and independent football season in 2020.  After three seasons in the AAA power house, Midwest Football Alliance, The program is stepping down from the MFA to run an independent schedule that will include teams of three different leagues.  The move was made to allow the team more equal competition while building the roster to better compete against MFA teams.
The team is expecting play at least two games against MFA opponents in 2020 and expect to play an eight to ten game schedule.  Management is also considering a bonus travel game like the one they played at US Bank Stadium, in October.
The 2020 schedule is expected to be out in February and games will begin in May.
