Ford repeats as NJCAA 1st-team All-American; Moore earns 3rd team status

Following a 7th place finish in the NJCAA Division Two national tournament in March, two members of the North Central Missouri College women’s basketball program have been named All-Americans.

Both players used an extra year of eligibility because of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic to play a third season at NCMC, with point guard Nora Ford (Hamilton, MO) named a first-team All-American for the second year in a row, while starting center Maci Moore (Trenton, MO) named a third-team All-American.

Ford is one of 10 players named to the first team, with two members of the national champions from CCBC (Community College of Baltimore County) Essex in Anasia Staton and Faith Blackstone highlighting the squad.

Others named 1st-teamers are Claire Hyde of Morton (IL), Amaris Baker of Harcum (PA), Nariyah Simmons of Johnson County (KS), Auzhane Allard of national runner-up Richard Bland (VA), Tasia Jordan of Kirkwood (IA), Jaylia Reed of Southern Arkansas Tech, and Alexus Mobley of Danville Area (IL).

Moore is joined on the NJCAA D-2 third-team All-Americans by Aichata Ballo of Niagara County (NY), Andrea Torres of Palm Beach State (FL), Matalynn Campbell of Southeast (NE), Abigail Long of Kalamazoo (MI), Deivejon Harris of Sullivan County (NY), Brielle Bartelt of Iowa Lakes CC, Aleshia Jones of Iowa Western, Alyssa Cole of Parkland (IL), and Abby Dietsche of North Arkansas College.

Second-team All-Americans are Mykah Anderson of Mesa (AZ), Teya Maas of Bryant & Stratton (WI), Myona Dauphinais of United Tribes Tech (ND), Luisayde Chavez of Pima (AZ), Kaylen Evans of Morton (IL), Jasmine Norman of Richard Bland (VA), Mackenzie Hart of Johnson County (KS), Khila Morris of Union (NJ), Cierra McNamee of Illinois Central, and Tyler Gray of CCBC Essex.

North Central went 3-1 in the national tournament in Port Huron, Michigan, with an opening round loss to Pima Community College followed by three wins in three consecutive days over Grand Rapids (MI), Niagara County, and Danville.
