Former Brookfield, NCMC, Missouri Valley standout named Princeton hoops coach

High School Basketball

Brookfield High School graduate Damon Collins has been hired as the next head coach of the Princeton boy’s basketball program.  Collins was the head coach at Macon for the past three years, having started his educational career as a teacher and coach at Linn County.

As a player, Collins had a standout career at Brookfield, then at the collegiate level for North Central Missouri College and Missouri Valley College in Marshall, where he was a first team all-conference, NAIA All-American, and Academic All-American from 2005 to 2007.

Coach Collins, his wife Mary, three-year old daughter Kinsley, and soon-to-be-arriving son will be moving to Princeton this summer.

Princeton looks to be strong heading into 2016-2017, returning both talent and youth in the back court in Logan Dunkin and Cameron Jones, along with big senior center Stephan Elliott, all reasons for optimism as the Tigers look for wins in the newly-formed Grand River Conference Eastern Division, where the Tigers will compete with Trenton, Putnam County, Milan, Polo, Gallatin, South Harrison, and Maysville.
