Gallatin wins home links triangular, Copple takes medalist honors

The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs won a three-team golf triangular on Thursday afternoon, shooting 220 to best runner-up Lawson’s 230 and the Trenton Lady Bulldogs score of 256.

Individually, GHS had the top two golfers on the Daviess County course, with Elle Copple grabbing medalist honors with a score of 47, while teammate Courtney Crose shot a runner-up 51.  Lawson’s top score, 52 by Haley Bennett, was good for third place, with Nina Schaedel of Lawson shooting 53 for fourth position.  Trenton’s top score, a 59 by Reece Weldon, earned the Lady Bulldog freshman the seventh best score on the course.

Other Trenton scores were Mari Atup 63 and Josie Chumbley 64, with Sofia Currie 70, and Morgan Brown 74.  For Gallatin, Cloey Waterbury shot 58, Kylie Stagner 64, and Brianna Filley 67.  

Lawson’s scores, in addition to Bennett and Schaedel, were Haley Hollon 56, Maggie Thompson 69, and Ava Schaedel 77.
