The Polo Panthers, coming off a 30 point win over Orrick, continue to look to be a strong threat in the Grand River Conference East in 2016, remaining entrenched in the Class 1 top 10 this week, a poll continuing to be dominated by defending state champion Valle Catholic, #2 ranked Marceline, and #3 ranked Penney.  Both the Tigers and the Hornets opened the ’16 campaign with convincing home field victories over the weekend, with MHS shutting out new conference rival Scotland County, while Penney took care of a good Maysville squad.
