All seven schools in the Class 2, District 7 softball hail from the KCI Conference, with Penney High School of Hamilton the only conference squad not headed to Mid-Buchanan High School in Faucett for the event starting Thursday, October 12th.
The host school, the Mid-Buchanan Dragons, earned the #1 seed and first-round bye, giving Mid-Buch a free pass into Saturday’s 11 o’clock semifinal. In that game, Mid-Buchanan will host either Lawson or West Platte, with the #4 seed Lady Cardinals battling the #5 seed Lady ‘Jays on Thursday night at 7 o’clock in the quarterfinal round.
Thursday’s other first-round contests will be #2 seed North Platte against East Buchanan at 3:30, followed by #3 seed Plattsburg against rival Lathrop at 5:15.
A second semifinal in district play (featuring the North Platte / East Buchanan and Plattsburg/Lathrop winners) will be held on Saturday at 1 o’clock, with the Class 2, District 7 championship game slated for 6 o’clock in the evening on Monday, October 16th.
