The return of the school’s heated rivalry with the University of Missouri highlights the 2020-2021 slate of non-conference games for the Kansas men’s basketball program, announced last week by the Jayhawk athletic department in Lawrence.

The renewal of the Border War between Kansas and Missouri, on hiatus since the Tigers move to the Southeastern Conference eight years ago, will take place at the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City, Missouri on December 12th.  The game will start a six-year run of games between the bitter rivals, with two games in Kansas City, two in Lawrence, and two in Columbia, Missouri.

As per usual, the national power Jayhawks feature a strong slate of non-conference games, including the opener against SEC power Kentucky in Chicago on November 10th.  Two weeks later (November 26 and 27), Kansas travels to Anaheim, California to play in the Wooden Legacy Tournament, joining Georgetown, Virginia, and UCLA.

A regional power program out of Omaha, Creighton University, will travel to Lawrence to challenge the Jayhawks on December 3rd, with Kansas meeting former conference rival Colorado, in Boulder, on December 22nd.  The USC Trojans visit Allen Fieldhouse on December 19th, with KU hosting the Ivy League’s Harvard Crimson on December 29th.  An opponent for the annual SEC-Big 12 challenge in late January will be announced, along with the remainder of the Kansas schedule, later this summer.
