The Mercer Cardinals had a busy 24 hour stretch heading into the weekend, hosting the Grundy County R-5 Panthers on Friday night, then heading to Purdin for a Saturday road trip to play the Mustangs.
On Friday, the visitors from Galt won a thrilling girls game at Mercer, 62-59, but the Mercer boys rebounded for a 64-42 win. On Saturday, Mercer played perhaps its most solid doubleheader of the season, with the Lady Cardinals claiming a 51-29 win over Linn County, followed by the Mercer boys, winning 68-54.
