The Milan Wildcats 2020 sports season are underway, although through one week, moving in opposite directions.  The Lady Wildcat softball team had a challenging start to the season, traveling to Class 1 power North Harrison on Monday night and falling to the Shamrocks by a score of 9-0.  Two nights later, following a Tuesday rainout, a much-improved Gallatin Lady Bulldog squad traveled to Milan and claimed a victory to open Grand River Conference play.  Next up for Coach Dodson and his girls is a non-conference home date with Novinger on Thursday night.

While the softball team absorbed back-to-back shutouts, John Dabney’s football team, with a defense led by long-time area head coach Mark Cole, shutout the visiting South Shelby Cardinals on Friday night at Cal Hubbard Field.  The Wildcats were to hit the road this week for a test at Harrisburg High School, but Boone County regulations to cut down COVID-19 risk has limited crowd size, pushing this week’s game from Harrisburg, up to Milan’s beloved PIT.

Both Harrisburg, courtesy of a convincing victory over Paris, and Milan are 1-0 coming into the Wildcats final regular season game of the season, as Milan, next week, will head to Putnam County to play the rival Midgets.  Both games will be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3.

Here are the latest interviews, originally aired at 5:30 PM on Thursday, September 3rd, courtesy of KTTN Sports.
