The Milan Wildcat boys, the top-seed in the annual Milan Tournament, improved their record to 14-0 with a 68-22 win over Bucklin/Macon County on Tuesday night. The victory moves the ‘Cats into the semifinals, and an “All-Wildcat” meeting with Novinger, Thursday night at 6 o’clock on KTTN FM 92.3.
On the bottom half of the Milan boy’s bracket, the Linn County Mustangs doubled up Brashear on Tuesday night, 68-34, as the Mustangs move into a semifinal showdown with Putnam County, Thursday night at 9 o’clock.
The Milan Lady Wildcats took a convincing win over Linn County last night, 61-43, the Milan girls third victory in a row. On Thursday night at 7:30, the Lady ‘Cats will take on Brashear in a semifinal game to be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3.
The Green City Lady Gophers, top seed at Milan, rolled past rival Novinger in Tuesday night’s first quarterfinal game, 68-30. Green City will get a rematch with the Grundy R-5 Lady Panthers on Thursday afternoon at 4:30. Green City gave the Lady Panthers one of their two losses on the season in early December at Green City.
In the consolation semifinals on Wednesday night from Milan, the Novinger Lady Wildcats play Putnam County at 4:30, with the Green City boys playing Bucklin/Macon County at 6 o’clock. The girls teams from Linn County and Bucklin/Macon County hit the floor at 7:30, followed by a 9 o’clock boys game between Brashear and Grundy County R-5.
