Milan High School’s Derrick Sylvester has been named first-team Class 1 all-district in voting conducted by northeast Missouri media members this week.  Sylvester, in addition to first-team offensive lineman, was named second-team all-district as a defensive lineman.

Milan senior Jaidyn Watts was named a second-team all-district Class 1 linebacker for the Wildcats.

The Class 1 team was dominated by members of the Lewis and Clark Conference champion Marceline Tigers, who went 12-1 this season, having their season end in the quarterfinals on November 12th with a loss to Monroe City.

Marceline Tigers named first-team all-district, offensively, are quarterback Andrew Edgar and linemen Jordan Elam and D.J. Gerhart.  Edgar is the first-team defensive back for the Tigers, with senior linebacker Brady Stallo, and defensive linemen Gerhart and Elam both named first-teamers on the defensive line of the ball.

Second-team selections from Marceline as running backs Rylan Chrisman and Dylan Wheeler, and wide receiver Levi Terrell.  Putnam County offensive lineman, senior Ryan Valentine, is a second-team all-district selection, along with Putnam County linebacker Tanner Bondy.

Despite a mediocre season that finished below Brookfield’s lofty standards, the Bulldogs stout defense was recognized with numerous Class 2 all-district picks.  First-teamers from Brookfield include linebacker Drake Menconi and defensive backs Cale Horton and Cody Howerton.  Offensive lineman Kaleb Gardner and running back Cale Horton are Brookfield first-team all-district picks offensively.

For second-team Class 2 all-northeast Missouri district, Brookfield Bulldogs named to the squad are offensive lineman Drake Menconi and defensive back Curtis Rulon.

Coach of the Year honors went to Monroe City’s David Kirby in Class 1, Macon’s Pete Claas in Class 2, and Hannibal’s Mark St. Clair in Classes 3 and 4.
