Mizzou’s receiving depth takes hit, with impending transfer of freshman WR O’Shae Clark

Before even getting on the field at the University of Missouri, the Tiger career of freshman wide receiver O’Shae Clark is over.  On Tuesday afternoon, MU football coach Barry Odom announced that Clark, suspended a day prior due to a “violation of team rules”, will be transferring from Mizzou.

The decision leaves Missouri without a freshman wide receiver on the roster this year, as fellow freshman Da’Ron Davis failed to qualify academically to the university, and will be looking at spending his freshman year at a junior college.

In referring to Clark’s transfer decision, Coach Odom said, “We’re going to help him do that. We wish him the best, hope he graduates and has a very productive life. We’re helping him find out where he wants to go.”

Clark, a lighting quick, 5’8″ receiver from Cy Springs High School in Texas, came to Missouri as a two-star (Rivals) recruit in February, a late addition after two other wide receiving prospects, Jafar Armstrong of Kansas City, and Elijah Gardner of Kemp, Texas, passed on MU in choosing other schools (Armstrong to Notre Dame and Gardner to Ohio State).
