Pattonsburg looks for GRC West surge in third year of football program

High School Football

Bolstered by the influx of talent from Eagleville and Gilman City, the Pattonsburg Panthers, under first year Head Coach Chase Roberts, opened the 2017 high school football season on Friday night with an impressive 46-30 victory over the Lions of St. Joseph Christian.

Admitting that his team uses more speed than brute strength for success, Roberts likes the experience of this year’s Panther squad, as the team prepares for its home opener, Friday night at 7 against the Braymer Bobcats.  A win would have PHS at 2-0 in Grand River Conference play, going into a road test next week at defending state champion North Andrew.

Hear an exclusive interview with Coach Roberts every Tuesday night at 6 o’clock during the high school football season on KTTN FM 92.3, starting tonight!
