The Princeton Lady Tigers will open the 2018 softball season on Saturday morning in Albany, playing, as a #7 seed, the Stanberry Lady Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the 7th annual Bill Hill Memorial Tournament.  Princeton is one of seven Grand River Conference teams in the tournament, joining the defending HDC Conference champions, and #1 seeded North Harrison Lady Shamrocks.

While the future for the Princeton program looks very good, the team, in the immediate future, will fight a combination of youth and inexperience early this season.  Here is Head Coach Heather Hall:

Coach Hall says she and the Lady Tigers are looking forward to the challenge of drawing Stanberry, the two-time defending champions in the GRC’s Western Division:

In addition to an influx of youth, Princeton’s team will have a different look this fall, with the amount of team speed going up:

The Grand River Conference’s Eastern Division looks, from a strength quotient, similar to past years, with Trenton’s talent establishing the Lady Bulldogs as the team to beat entering 2018:

In the Albany Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday morning, #4 seed Albany plays Worth County (West Field) and #3 Gallatin challenges King City (East Field) in the 8:30 games, followed by Princeton playing Stanberry at 10:15 AM on the East Field, with North Harrison and North Andrew playing on the West.

Consolation semifinals start at 12 noon, with the championship semifinals at 1:45.  The consolation final and 7th place contests start at 3:30, with the championship game and third place game both contested at 5:15.
