Top seeds from Norborne, Northwestern win on second night of CLAA Tournament

The #1 seeded Northwestern boys and Norborne girls cruised into the CLAA Tournament semifinals, with convincing victories on Tuesday night at Tina-Avalon High School.

The Norborne Lady Pirates walloped Brunswick 60-13, joined in the win column by the Tina-Avalon Lady Dragons, who beat Northwestern 35-14.

The second-round of girls play at the CLAA Tournament is set, with Keytesville playing Northwestern at 4:30 and Brunswick battling Hale/Bosworth in the consolation semifinals on Wednesday night, while in Thursday night’s championship semifinals, the Southwest Livingston Lady Wildcats play Tina-Avalon at 4:30, while the Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs challenge Norborne at 7 o’clock.

In boy’s quarterfinal action on Tuesday night, the Northwestern boys rolled past Norborne 69-39 while the Tina-Avalon Dragons slipped pat the Hale/Bosworth Cardinals 35-31.

In the boy’s consolation semifinals on Wednesday night, Norborne plays Keytesville at 5:45, with Southwest Livingston and Hale/Bosworth facing off at 8:15.  Thursday’s boys championship semifinals see Hardin-Central against Tina-Avalon at 5:45, with Northwestern taking on Brunswick at 8:15.
