Trenton extends streak to three wins, prior to Thursday test at Kirksville

The Trenton Lady Bulldog varsity volleyball team traveled to Bethany on Tuesday night, returning home with their third win in a row, all on the road, defeating the upstart South Harrison Lady Bulldogs by a score of 25-16, 25-22.  Trenton, now 3-4 on the season, will look for a clean sweep of their four-match road trip, traveling to Kirksville on Thursday night to battle the Lady Tigers.  On Saturday, THS will participate in the Lathrop Tournament, with the Penney Lady Hornets, defeated by Trenton in Hamilton on Monday night, traveling to Trenton eight nights later (Tuesday, September 19th).

In the loss to Trenton on Monday night, the Lady Hornets had Elisha Westover and Ally Houghton with two aces each.  Westover and Jessica Richman each had three kills.  Lyndsey Ernat four digs, while Richman and Halle Vanatta both had two assists.  On Tuesday night, Penney lost decisively to a strong Cameron Lady Dragon squad, 25-8, 25-8.  Richman and Ernat both had an ace, while Westover leading the Lady Hornets with three kills.

Going back to Bethany, in direct comparison to their varsity counterparts, the Trenton JV had a closer match with South Harrison last night, but won in straight sets, by scores of 25-23, 25-23.

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets, a three-set winner at Trenton High School earlier this season in one of the most thrilling matches ever played between those rivals, won at Carrollton in straight sets on Tuesday night, 25-19, 25-15.  Elli Ross had 17 assists and Kaylee Lewis seven kills for the Lady Hornets in victory.

The Trenton Middle School volleyball team traveled to Plattsburg on Tuesday night, taking three sets of three played against the Lady Tigers.  Trenton’s victorious totals were 25-16, 26-24, 15-5.  Ava Simpson led TMS in aces.
