The Trenton Lady Bulldog junior varsity team pushed their record to 3-0 after a quick start over the Putnam County Lady Midgets on Monday night at the THS gymnasium.  Leading 12-4 after the first quarter the Lady Bulldogs went on a 13-0 run to open the second quarter and led 27-6 at halftime.  Trenton would increase its lead to 36 after 3 quarters, outscoring Putnam County 19-4 in the third stanza.  Haley Kidd led all scorers with 15 followed by Maci Moore with 11 and McKayla Blackburn with 10 points.  It was another sparkling performance for the Lady Bulldogs, as Coach John Cowling added, “I was pleased with how we shared the ball in this game.  Kendall Crowley did a nice job in the high post of finding open girls.  I was also happy with our defense in this game, we didn’t give up many easy looks.”

The THS Boys JV fell to 0-2 on the season, dropping a contest to Putnam County 36-18.

Trenton put themselves in an early hole, falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter. Putnam would build the lead to 24-6 going into the half. From there THS would stay even with Putnam, but could never mount a comeback, falling 36-18.

“We put ourselves in a tough spot where we let the game get out of hand pretty early,” Said JV Coach Kameron Cool. “We played them tight for three quarters and saw a lot of positives.”

Brycin Loyd led THS scorers with seven on the game followed by five from Gavin Roeder. Camdyn Leeper, Chase Otto, and Royce Jackson rounded out the scoring with two points each.

The JV squad will have a large break as they will not see action again until December 14th against the Princeton Tigers.
