The Trenton girls, buoyed by three first-place finishes from freshman sprinter Kristi Ewing, racked up 149 points on Friday afternoon, winning the Brookfield Relays over runner-up Marceline, as the Lady Tigers had 144 points. With 123 points, Palmyra was third, followed by Putnam County (55) and Brookfield (54). In the boy’s team chase, Palmyra was the only team to score triple digits, with 104 points in the championship effort. Marceline was second with 89.5 points, followed by Brookfield (81), Putnam County (72), and Milan (59.5). The Trenton Bulldogs finished in 10th place, with 41 points on the day.
