The #2 ranked Winston Redbirds put five players in double figures in Monday night’s Osborn Tournament quarterfinal, in an 84-14 win over the host Osborn Wildcats that improves WHS to 13-0 on the season.

Craig Lewis, back in the starting lineup after missing last week’s game against Tina-Avalon due to injury, led Winston with 21 points, while Cy Uthe and Logan Caldwell had 14, Jacob Lewis 12, and Griffen Harris 11 points.  The win sends the ‘Birds into a Thursday night semifinal against Tuesday night’s Pattonsburg/Union Star winner.

The Winston JV served as the #7 seed in the Osborn Tournament, and took one on the chin against Stewartsville, falling 52-14.

In girls quarterfinal action, the #1 seed DeKalb Lady Tigers hammered Union Star, 78-16, while the #2 seed Pattonsburg Lady Panthers struggled to score, but managed to use a strong defensive outing to take down the DeKalb junior varsity squad, 29-19.

On Tuesday night from the OHS gym, the action starts with a Polo vs. DeKalb boys game at 4:30, followed by the Polo Lady Panthers dueling with Osborn at 6.  At 7:30, the Pattonsburg boys battle Union Star, with the Stewartsville girls finishing up the night against Winston at 9 o’clock.
