Clampitt, Parkey named All-MEC volleyball first teamers for Chillicothe

The Midland Empire Conference has announced all-conference first team and honorable mention selections for the 2016 volleyball season.  Two Chillicothe Lady Hornets, Whitney Clampitt and Katelyn Parkey, were named all-conference.  Chillicothe, in finishing 4-3 in MEC play, tied for 4th place with St. Joseph Lafayette and Maryville.  The Hornets, in three sets, lost to Lafayette in a district final heartbreaker.

Bishop LeBlond, a quarterfinalist in Class 2, tied for the MEC title with Savannah and Smithville, with those teams all at 5-2.  Benton was 1-6 and Cameron 0-7 in MEC play.

Joining Clampitt and Parkey as All-MEC selections are Lafayette’s Madison Skeen and Carley Ezzell, Smithville’s Aysa Harris, Savannah’s Lauren Garrett and Kennedy Grant, Bishop LeBlond’s Kate Manganaro, Courtney Medinger, and Sommer Herner, Benton’s Tamia Stillman, and Maryville’s Paige Heitman.

Benton’s Sabrina Sosa and Maryville’s Kailee Swalley were named All-MEC liberos.

Honorable mention selections were Carly Gardner and Hannah Jones of Chillicothe, Jada Bates of Benton, Sidney Herner and Chloe Loehnig of LeBlond, Paige Harper and Maddie Garr of Cameron, Cydney Ezzell and Samantha Ziph of Lafayette, Halley Sims and Abby Loe of Maryville, Katie Wolfe, Hannah Riekhof, and Rileigh Veale of Savannah, and Emma Remboldt and Laney Hill of Smithville.
