Gallatin bumps Trenton from GRC lead, as Vaught’s no-hitter keeps Polo unbeaten

Trenton’s 3-0 start to Grand River Conference play was ended by Gallatin on Thursday night, with hosts from Daviess County getting the better of THS by a score of 6-2.  That result, combined with a no-hitter thrown by Polo’s Hanna Vaught in a 12-0 win over Maysville, and an 11-1 win for South Harrison over Putnam County, leaves Gallatin, South Harrison, and Trenton, at 3-1, one game behind 4-0 Polo for the GRC lead.

In Trenton’s setback at Gallatin, THS had Kaylor Hodge and Mirena King get base hits while Hodge scored a run.  Jena Harris was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored, with Madi Moore 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Elsewhere on the Thursday night scoreboard, King City shutout Albany 10-0, Princeton was an 11-2 winner over Milan, Worth County downed North Harrison 5-3, with Northeast Nodaway defeating Stanberry 10-6.

In play-by-play broadcasts on KTTN, Hamilton is at Trenton on Monday night at 5 o’clock, with Princeton at Gallatin on Tuesday night at 5:30.
