GRC’s St. Joseph Christian Lions to switch football coaches next spring

High School Football

While Steve Juhl will remain on as football coach of the Christian (St. Joseph) High School Lions this fall, the school has announced that Troy Schenk will take over as the third Head Coach in school history beginning in Spring 2018.

The hiring of Schenk continues the new look of the Lions program, highlighted by the school’s move to the Grand River Conference, as a member of the eight-man football division (Western Division) last fall.

Coach Schenk will come to St. Joseph after 14 years coaching in Kansas, Ohio, and Illinois, including Defensive Coordinator at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois and Offensive Coordinator at Malone University in Canton, Illinois.

As a member of the GRC’s Western Division, St. Joseph Christian competes with Braymer, North Andrew, Stanberry, King City, Albany, Pattonsburg, and Worth County.
