Milan splits tournament championship games

The Milan Wildcats host the Green City Lady Gophers and Brashear Tigers on Monday night in the championship games of the Milan Tournament, broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3.

In the opener, a showdown between high-scoring forwards Brooke Littrell of Green City and Cady Pauley of Milan lived up to expectations, with Littrell’s 39 points leading the Lady Gophers to a 75-64 win, pushing Green City’s record to 13-0.  Celeste Athon had 16 points for the Gophers, while Pauley led Milan with 41 points, while Tahli Gray had 14.

The boys championship game featured a Wildcat rout, as Eddie Gonzalez scored 18 points to lead Milan to an 83-41 win over Brashear.  Dominic Dabney chipped in with 17 points, Hunter Shaw 15, and Dre Morehead 10 for the Wildcats, with Brandon Jochimsen scoring 18 points and Garrett Housman 15 for the Tigers.

The Novinger boys beat Green City in the consolation final, 59-58.
