The Trenton girls and Milan boys claimed wins on Monday night, splitting a junior varsity doubleheader at the Milan High School gymnnasium.  In the opener, Trenton’s Lady Bulldogs remained unbeaten, but not without a good challenge from the Lady ‘Cats.

Trenton lead 13-7 after one quarter and 19-9 by the half.  The lead was extended to 33-17 after three quarters, with THS grabbing the 39-26 road win, the Lady Bulldogs closest game of the season.  All eight Trenton players scored in the contest, with Maci Henson leading the way with eight points, while Lexi Whitaker added 7, and Saedee Jackson six.

The Trenton JV boys, for the first time this season, are facing a losing streak, falling for the second time in three days, 44-36 to the host Wildcats.  Milan jumped on the visitors early, scoring the game’s first 17 points.  The Bulldogs showed strong fight for the 2 1/2 quarters, but found the hole too dump to climb out of, as Milan held on for the win.

Trenton JV boys coach Kameron Cool told KTTN, “It is an understatement to say that we were not ready to play, but I was really proud of how hard our guys fought to get back in it. A lot of teams would have quit and gotten blown out but they gave everything to fight back and make it competitive.”

THS was led by Cole Schilling who had 14 points. Dalton Burchett had eight and Kade Ockenfels six.
