High School Softball
The THS JV moved to 3-0 Monday night, defeating the Penney Lady Hornet junior varsity soundly, 10-2.
The Bulldog offense was slowed early, as the game was tied at one a-piece headed to the fourth inning. In the next two innings, THS would pile in nine runs to Hamilton’s one. Kennedy Norton led THS yet again, reaching base in all four trips to the plate, stealing four more bases and scoring a run. Sara Spencer went two-for-three on the night with three RBIs. Freshmen Jaycee Griffin and Jillian Nichols each went one-for-three with a run scored as well.
Our offense did a great job of being patient at the plate and putting the ball in play.” Said JV coach Kameron Cool. “This was a great confidence game at the plate, especially for our young girls!”
In the circle, McKayla Blackburn was terrific, tossing five innings, giving up two runs, (one earned) on just two hits, walking two while striking out four.
Trenton is right back in action Tuesday as they face off against the Gallatin Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday night at Ebbe Sports Complex in Trenton. Varsity first pitch is at 5:30 with JV to follow.
