The 2023-2024 college basketball season will see a challenge between the Big 12 Conference and Big East Conference, with 11 games planned, looking a marquee matchup between the last two national champions, the University of Connecticut and the University of Kansas.

The Huskies and the Jayhawks will meet at Phog Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence sometime in the late November to early December time frame, according to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.

The Big 12 Conference will have 14 schools in the 2023-2024 athletic season, with the addition of the Central Florida Knights, Cincinnati Bearcats, Brigham Young Cougars, and Houston Cougars.  Both Oklahoma and Texas will take part in next year’s event before leaving for the Southeastern Conference on July 1, 2024, with the Sooners hosting Providence, and the Longhorns playing at Marquette and former UT head coach Shaka Smart.

In an “All-Wildcat” battle at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, the Kansas State Wildcats will host the Villanova Wildcats, the first meeting between the programs since 1940.

Other expected games for the Big 12-Big East event will be Houston at Xavier, St. John’s at West Virginia, Creighton at Oklahoma State, Iowa State at DePaul, Texas Tech at Butler, TCU at Georgetown, and Seton Hall at Baylor.
