Princeton Tigers split Gilman City Tournament title games

The Princeton Tigers earned a three-game winning streak, momentum, and a tournament title with a come-from-behind victory over the Pattonsburg Panthers on Saturday in the championship game of the Gilman City Tournament.  Princeton trailed 27-26 at the half, and 42-38 after three quarters, before taking a 53-51 victory.

The Tigers face two GRC road tests over the next two nights, traveling to Gallatin tonight (Monday night) and Maysville on Tuesday, before hosting a ‘cross-over’ doubleheader against GRC West opponents on Friday night.

The Northeast Nodaway boys won third place over Gilman City, 51-45.  For the Hawks, Cornelius Peery had 21 points and Mitchell Sievering 10.

The North Harrison boys won Friday night’s consolation final against East Harrison, 51-33.

The North Harrison girls ended Princeton’s winning streak with a 39-32 title game victory on Saturday in the Gilman City championship game.  The Lady Shamrocks defense was stout, holding the Lady Tigers without a double-digit scorer.  Payton Goodin had 9 points, Jaelyn Thomas eight, and Vivian Allen seven for the Lady Tigers.

The East Harrison girls took Friday night’s third place game against Pattonsburg, 55-46, while the Northeast Nodaway Lady ‘Jays won the consolation final against Gilman City, 48-42.
