TMS cruises to Hamilton Tournament title, winning three games by combined 43-1

Behind standout pitching from Megan Spencer, the Trenton Middle School Bulldogs dominated play in Saturday’s Hamilton Tournament, beating Gallatin (17-0), Cameron (11-1) and Hamilton (15-0) to claim the title.

Against the Gallatin Bulldogs, Spencer pitched three innings, and struck out eight of the nine batters she faced in earning the victory.  Gracyn Rongey was 4 for 4 with three runs scored, with Delaney Franklin 3 for 3 with three runs scored for TMS.  Savannah Triplet had a pair of hits and scored three times.

Against Cameron, Spencer twirled five innings, facing 19 batters, allowing four hits with seven strikeouts.  Rongey had two hits and scored three times for Trenton, while Adria Selby was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Against the host Hamilton Hornets, Summer Martin, Spencer, and Selby combined for nine hits and eight runs scored for the Bulldogs.  Rongey had a pair of hits and scored three runs.  

Trenton Middle School will play at Putnam County on Tuesday night at 5:30.
