The Pattonsburg Panthers will take a perfect record of 6-0 into Friday night’s battle at the top of the Grand River Conference standings against the Worth County Tigers, however, coming off an up-and-down performance in a 82-48 win over Rich Hill, the Panthers hold on the #1 spot in the 8-man media rankings has shrunk this week.

In the poll announced on Monday morning, Pattonsburg had four first-place votes, with second-place East Atchison receiving the other three.  The point difference between the Panthers and the Wolves is 67 for PHS and 66 for the Tarkio-Fairfax cooperative program.

Worth County, the defending state champions, hold the #3 spot with 47 points, followed by Mound City and Southwest Livingston tied at the fourth position with 44 points each.

North Shelby, the Week #8 opponent for Pattonsburg, has 39 points and is ranked #6, followed by Appleton City (28 points), North Andrew (24), Drexel (11), and Orrick (6 points).
