All-District football teams announced

High School Football

With just five games (Class 1 through 5 championships this weekend in Columbia) remaining to be played in the 2018 high school football season, the media members of both northwest Missouri and northeast Missouri have released All-District selections.

For northwest Missouri, the unbeaten Lathrop Mules dominate the Class 2 team, with Chris Holt named the All-District Coach of the Year, leading LHS to a 14-0 record and an appearance against Blair Oaks in Friday afternoon’s state title game.  The first victim of Lathrop’s historic season, the Trenton Bulldogs, had four players named to the All-District team, with running back Mark Trump, wide receiver Jaren Whitney, offensive lineman Hunter Trask, and linebacker Jadan Whitney receiving the honor from THS.

In Class 1, the Princeton Tigers had three selections to the northwest Missouri All-District team, in wide receiver Mitchel Hydorn, kick returner Logan Dunkin, and linebacker Camden Hartley.  From Gallatin, named All-District were linebacker Graydee Rains, defensive back Aidan Adkison, defensive lineman Tom Crouse, kicker Adrian Hernandez, and offensive lineman Morgan McNeely.

The Milan Wildcats cleaned up in northeast Missouri’s Class 1 All-District selections, as John Dabney was named Coach of the Year, honoring the Wildcats run to a Grand River Conference championship and a 10-1 season.  The All-District quarterback is junior Ryan Dabney, joined on the combination of first and second teams by Milan running back Jamuel Pagan, offensive linemen Brady Reynolds and Riley Shoemaker, wide receivers Hunter Shaw and Dre Morehead, punter Eddie Gonzalez, defensive backs Hunter Shaw, Eddie Gonzalez, and Marcus Diaz, linebacker Dominic Dabney, and defensive linemen Jamuel Pagan, Riley Shoemaker, and Deric DoPorto.
